We notched the post so part of it sits on the
deck and part of it sticks through and is bolted to the support
frame underneath.

Starting on the deck railing - we have notched out the post and
cut the rail to create a mortice and tenon joint.

at this stage to work out the spindle measurements because you dont
want to end up with your end spindle too close to the post. |
